On the first day of CES 2015, Utah-based company Saygus surprised us with its latest entrant in the Smartphone category, the V2 (pronounced "V-squared"). But honestly, the new offering is a bit more than a Smartphone and has been popularly known as a "superphone".

The reason is simple. Take every Smartphone specification you can think of, pack it in a modest body and you have got yourself the V2. The device powered by Android 4.4 KitKat flaunts a 5-inch, 1080p full-HD display with a 445ppi pixel density. Also present is Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that showcases the capacity of its 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and a 3100 mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities. It also comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB on-board storage which is expandable up to 256GB.

Though it looks very similar to a usual Android phone, its specifications make the phone much superior to its competitors. Sporting a 21MP dual-LED flash, OIS and auto-focus rear camera and a 13MP front camera, the quality of selfies will never be the same again. But it doesn't stop here. Apart from all this, the “superphone” is waterproof up to 1m for 30 mins, supports NFC and IR transmission for TV control, has Harman / Kardon speakers, a carbon Kelvar and a fingerprint scanner.

The company hasn’t have a quote for the V2 as yet, but it is expected to be pricey. The device is said to undergo some design changes which is something to look forward to. If the press claims are true, then this phone is a game changer and at the same time, a huge competition for the existing players. Hopefully the fate of the V2 will be different from its predecessor VPhone which was released at the CES 2010 but never reached the consumer.
