Trying to improve your health takes a lot of dedication and motivation. And, sometimes, our busy lives get in the way of healthy habits such as eating healthy, exercising, or scheduling an appointment with a doctor.

Thankfully, there are a number of companies who have recognized this problem and have developed ways to make staying healthy easier. Here are just ten of the companies you should checkout if you want to start taking your health more seriously.

1. Grubmarket

Obviously one of the best ways to improve your health is by eating a balanced and healthy diet. Here’s the problem with that - there are people many who simply do not have the time or access to farm fresh food. That is when Grub Market steps in.

Grubmarket is an online farmer’s market that delivers a variety of foods from local farmers, as well as fisheries, commercial kitchens, certified home kitchens, and restaurants, right to your door. Best of all? All orders over $25 of this fresh, affordable, and organic food ships for free.

2. FitBit

Founded by James Park and Eric Friedman in 2007, FitBit has arguably become one of the leading companies in the health industry. Starting with the FitBit Tracker, which you clipped to an article of clothing, FitBit now uses flexible wristbands to help you reach personal health goals by measuring the number of steps you’ve walked or the quality of sleep you had the night before.

According to the company , their users take 43% more steps when using FitBit.

3. Adhere Tech

As part of GE’s Startup Program and a graduate of Blueprint Health, Adhere Tech looks to stop patients from returning to the hospital following a medical setback. This is accomplished by using wireless bottles that collect and send data. This information is then analyzed and used to create customized alerts. So, for example, if a patient forgets to take a dose, they receive an alarm to remind them.

4. ZocDoc

What if you could use your phone to easily schedule a doctor’s appointment - without making a phone call? What if you could view the open appointment times your doctor has? I bet you would enjoy a service like that - as opposed to sitting in agony for days.

That’s exactly what ZocDoc has been doing since 2007.

Not only can you view open appointments, you can instantly click to make an appointment, view maps of doctors who accept your insurance, and read reviews from patients.

5. WellnessFX

If you have to take frequent blood tests for medical reasons, then you already know how expensive and time-consuming it is. WellnessFX changes that by cutting out the middleman, or at least the appearance of a middleman.

Here’s how it works. You select a package (they start at $78), have a test ordered and make an appointment at local testing center. After the blood is pulled, you’ll receive easy-to-understand results via email in a couple of days.

Fast Company included WellnessFX in it’s list of the most innovative companies and stated, "WellnessFX provides a new generation of preventative health and delivers it all to your mobile phone. "

10. MedWand

If you have a chronic health condition, or are too ill to leave your home, then MedWand is extremely useful. Through this handy device, doctors can listen to and monitor your heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen level in your blood remotely. Doctors can also listen to your lungs, look into your throat, ears, eyes and take your temperature.

Another thing I personally like about MedWand is that more patients can be seen remotely - which could maybe make cold and flu season a little less harsh.
