For those looking to pick up a new smartphone within the next few weeks, you may want to hold off until March 1.

That will be the date when both HTC and Samsung are expected to unveil their newest flagship phones - the HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 respectively.

The March unveil has become a yearly tradition, with both manufacturers taking advantage of Mobile World Congress to show off their latest and greatest.

HTC will be hosting a press conference at 10 a.m. ET, with their official invitation using the line "Utopia in progress." There are rumors that the HTC One M9 will use a 64-bit octa-core processor and will sport a 5-inch screen, with 3GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera. According to upleaks , which has a good track record of legitimate leaks, there may also be a "plus" version of the One M9 that could include a fingerprint scanner.

As for Samsung, their event will be streamed live on YouTube at 12:30 p.m. ET. Their invite shows a curved device, which suggests that the Galaxy S6 could feature a curved screen of some sort, ala the Galaxy Edge.

It is believed that the Galaxy S6 will feature a Quad HD screen and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.
