Several local news stations from the Big Bear area are currently showing the cabins where murder suspect Christopher Dorner was believed to be barricaded in flames, although it is unknown whether or not Dorner was still inside the cabin on fire in Angelus Oaks.
The cabin fire started shortly after tear gas was fired into the building. Various reports from the area are reporting a body within the cabin, and reporters on the scene are witnessing police putting their weapons down, however they have not yet confirmed whether Dorner is indeed dead or alive in the flames.
Cindy Bachman, the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department's spokesman, says that the whereabouts of Dorner are unknown at this time, and she could not answer questions as to whether the area is safe or not.

Although Commander Andrew Smith of the Los Angeles Police initially asked media in helicopters to not display live aerial video coverage in order to protect SWAT team maneuvers, at this point several news outlets are displaying up close shots of the melee, including compelling video coverage of reporter Carter Evans, who was at one point in the midst of the gunfire between Dorner and police:

The tension is easing in the area, report CBS Los Angeles reporters covering the event, although it has still not been confirmed at this time whether Dorner is dead or alive.
