A Delaware witness at Middletown reported watching a brightly lit object emerge from a "weird patch of clouds" that hovered in place before powering down its lights and disappearing about 2:35 a.m. on March 20, 2013, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network ( MUFON ) witness reporting database.
The witness was about to go to bed, but looked out the bedroom window and saw something strange.
"I noticed an extremely weird patch of clouds that have light illuminating from the inside up towards miles into the sky," the witness stated. "I am having goose bumps re-visualizing it. Within a few minutes, the clouds broke away and an object clear as day sits hovering, stationary in the sky with the lights alternating in brightness and color left to right."
The witness guessed on the distance of the object.
"I assume the object was about 1-5 miles away (directly over Chesapeake City, MD) and it was huge. Just like what you expect to see in the movies. It was visible for over a minute then the lights began to shut off (almost as if powering down) and then went completely black."
The witness described the light.
"The brightness of the object was a type of light I have never seen. It is hard to explain the light but it was as vibrant as fire (like the sun) but not blinding. The light was very clear and crisp. Once the lights shut down to just one moderately white light, it then completely disappeared."
The witness attempted to video tape the object.
"I took video with my iPhone4, but after trying to view, the screen looks black. I think I'd need video editing software. If someone would like to try to work something with it, they are welcomed to contact me and I will email the three videos I took."
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on March 20, 2013. Middletown is a town in New Castle County, DE, population 18,871.

March 20, 2013, 2:30 a.m., Middletown, Kent County, DE - This event just changed my life. Case 46328.
I went to bed at 2:35 am on Wednesday morning (March 20th) 2013. No drugs, no alcohol. Just got out of a hot shower, mind cleared- ready to snug up with the pooch. I looked out the window at the sky (as I always do before bed) and admired the moderately clear sky. To the NW I notice an extremely weird patch of clouds that have light illuminating from the inside up towards miles into the sky. I am having goose bumps re-visualizing it. With in a few minutes, the clouds broke away & an object CLEAR AS DAY sits hoovering, stationary in the sky with the lights alternating in brightness & color left to right. I assume the object was about 1-5 miles away (directly over Chesapeake City MD) & it was HUGE. Just like what you expect to see in the movies. It was visible for over a minute then the lights began to shut off (almost as if powering down) then went completely black. The brightness of the object was a type of light I have never seen.
