The NDTV reported on March 20, 2013, that a large asteroid is heading towards the planet earth and as an advice NASA asked people to pray.
According to NASA chief Charles Bolden, there is nothing much that anyone could do at this point of time when the asteroid is heading towards New York City.
Bolden stated that neither United States nor anyone else can do anything now when the unknown asteroid is about to have a collision course with Earth.
He talked to the lawmakers at a US House of Representatives Science Committee hearing.
Earlier on Feb. 15, 2013, an asteroid of about 55 feet in diameter exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia.
The explosion produced shock waves, which devastated windows and damaged buildings.
The explosion also caused injury of more than 1,500 people. Later the very same day, another isolated asteroid, which was discovered last year, was seen passing about 17, 200 miles from earth.
NASA is discovering and tracking around 95 percent of largest objects flying near earth.
