Alabama jihadist Randy "Rasheed" Wilson apologized shamefaced on Friday in U.S. District Court, reports Reuters on April 19, 2013.

Wilson had been accused of plotting a conspiracy to travel to Africa with a man to defend attempts to "maim, murder and kidnap" under the veil of Islam.

On asking by the Judge Kristi DuBose whether he realized the accusations against him and that he would giving up his rights to a trial by pleading guilty, Wilson replied in positive patiently.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Bodnar, Wilson was contriving to join a war, or jihad, between Muslims and non-believers of Islam. Wilson said that either they will kill and defeat them else it will be vice-versa.

The word Jihad had several meanings. Bodnar commented that in this context it means indulging in violence and fighting to cause injury and death.

Investigations that started in October 2010 led to the arrest of these men in December 2012 at different locations. Georgia and Wilson were handcuffed at the Atlanta airport and Abukhdair was caught at Augusta bus station.
