The Telegraph reported on April 11, 2013, that a fisherman from Belarus was bitten and killed by a beaver after he tried to take a photograph of it.
The incident happened in Lake Shestakov, Belarus when the man went close to the beaver to take a picture, the beaver came forward and bit him on his thigh.
After the incident, the friends of the victim who were with him when the attack took place, tried to stop the flow of blood but were unsuccessful as the man bled to death in front of them.
The Daily Telegraph quoted Sergei Shtyk, the deputy head of the wildlife inspectorate as saying, "It was early morning and already light when they saw a beaver by the road, which was unusual because beavers are nocturnal."
"One of them went up to be photographed with it, and the animal attacked him and bit him twice, cutting an artery in his thigh, before running away.”, he added.
According to the Wikipedia , beavers are nocturnal, they build canals to float building materials that are difficult to haul over land.
They use their powerful teeth to cut trees and other plants that are used for building dams on rivers or streams.
Thee kind of attacks by the gentle creatures are very rare.
