On Monday morning the UK Independent reported that Margaret Thatcher died after suffering a stroke. Users on several Facebook pages are celebrating her death with calls for parties and other events. One page, the UK Mirror said, seeks to make Judy Garland's song, "Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead," number one.

According to the Mirror, the group was first started in 2007 and became active after a three-month hiatus.

The group, called " Make "Ding dong the witch is dead" number 1 the week Thatcher dies ," has over 1,700 members as of this writing.

Another group, " Get ding dong the witch is dead to #1 when Margaret Thatcher dies ," has the same goal.

"As soon as you hear she is dead make your way to I tunes napster ect and dowlode (sic) as offten (sic) as you can ding dong the witch is dead from wizard of oz, (sic)" the group says in its description.

"Get the bunting ready Thatcher is dead, (sic)" one person wrote.

Another page, " Is Margaret Thatcher dead yet? " currently has over 39,000 likes.

A group called " Margaret Thatcher is dead " calls itself "the original and first page to welcome to celebrate the demise of that evil malign cow, namely, one Margaret Thatcher."

"We are planning a memorial to her here in South Armagh, personally, I don't think the dance floor is big enough," one person wrote.

"Good riddance," another person wrote.

Almost immediately after news of Thatcher's death, liberals on Twitter -- including cartoonist Ted Rall -- celebrated the news.

"Goodbye, Maggie, and good riddance. Along with Reagan, Thatcher destroyed the safety net and the social contract in the West," he wrote.

Thatcher was 87 when she died and, the UK Independent said, will receive a special ceremonial funeral, similar to those accorded to the Queen Mother and Diana.
