The Pyramids of Giza have always been a subject of mystery. The Yahoo News reported a latest finding on the mysterious of pyramid, i.e. the way 10,000 builders of the famous Giza pyramids were fed on April 24, 2013.
There used to be an enormous feast for them. This has been discovered by the scientists who were studying the forgotten town of the workers in the vicinity of the pyramids.
According to the survey, this town of workers is situated at a distance of about 1,300 feet (400 meters) south of the Sphinx.
The workers who were indulged in building the pyramid of pharaoh Menkaure used to live in the worker’s town, also called Heit el-Ghurab in Arabic.
The scientists have discovered animal bones and on the basis of further speculation on the findings, the nutritional data was charted out.
An estimated amount of 4,000 pounds of meat was supplied to feed the builders. Cattle, sheep and goats were slaughtered everyday to fulfill the requirement of food.
Quoting ichard Redding, chief research officer at Ancient Egypt Research Associates (AERA), the Yahoo News stated, "People were taken care of, and they were well fed when they were down there working, so there would have been attractiveness to that."
