It was reported on April 19, 2013, that the Little Valley games were suspended after gunfire erupted Wednesday night at a parking lot in Vallejo.
Reportedly, there was an argument between two men at around 7:30 p.m. during the game which continued at the parking lot which resulted in shooting. No one was injured.
Vallejo police Lt. Kenny Park told the Times-Herald, the victim was able to get in his car and drove away from the 460 Corcoran Ave. parking lot before the car was hit by gunfire.
Due to the suspension of the games around 200 children in the North Vallejo League will miss all the games which were to be played in the next few days.
The person who fired the shots is said to be still on the loose. He is a mixed-race man in his 20s, weighing around 250 pounds and he has automatic handgun with him.
North Vallejo Little League President Greg Reason said by phone Thursday, "I don't know how this is going to go.
"All I know is we need to discuss what it's going to take for us to get back on the field. We've got to take back our community; We've got to able to feel safe when we're out there enjoying a family game."
