A man was shot dead outside Northeast Ohio Church after an Easter service around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, reports ABC News on April 1, 2013. No other injuries have been reported. The police in northeast Ohio are investigating on the incident.

According to a member of the Hiawatha Church of God in Christ, Joan Crockett, the man knew the shooter.

The suspect was taken into detention. Media reported that the victim was a 52-year-old man Richard Riddle and the shooter was his son.

Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said to the Star Beacon in Ashtabula that the officials received several calls regarding the shooting incident from people who were inside the church and they feared it to be a mass shooting.

Stell pointed out that around six other law enforcement agencies sped to help local police.

Rev. David Howard Jr. told that there are around 175 members in the church. He added that the people at the church were not aware of the reason of the shooting.

ABC News quoted Howard who said that, "People pushed me into a back office and said, 'Somebody's here with a gun. The guy was outside hollering and acting crazy."
