It was reported on April 4, 2013, that the WWE has settled a lawsuit with Owen Hart’s widow, Martha.


The lawsuit filed in 2010 had alleged that Hart owed royalties from the WWE for use of the wrestler’s images after his death.


The lawsuit also claimed that the federation had violated a contract for not using the image of Hart and his name. The settlement details have not yet been made public.


Wrestler Owen Hart died in May 1999 during a WWE fight known as Over the Edge.


During a stunt at Missouri Arena in Kansas City, the 34-year old wrestler's harness malfunctioned and he fell over 78 feet to the ring below. Hart was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Hart family received an settlement of $18 million in 2000 after they sued the WWE for negligence.


Owen Hart's accident was one of the most tragic events in the history of wrestling and his fans miss him a lot.
