Yesterday, Nokia unveiled a new flagship phone for the Windows Phone 8 OS. The Lumia line has always been Windows Phone lovers' phone of choice, but what makes the Lumia 1020 impressive is its camera: The phone boasts an incredible 41 megapixel camera. For reference, the iPhone 5 has an 8 megapixel camera. The Lumia 1020 is capable of shooting video in high definition at 1080p and 30 frames per second (FPS). Its predecessor is marketed as being the best low-light camera available, and there is no doubt that this device trumps that claim.
Beyond the camera, the device's AMOLED measures in at 4.5 inches with a resolution of 1280x768 and aspect ratio of 15:9. The touch screen is super sensitive, so it may be used through thin gloves in the winter and, utilizing Corning's Gorilla Glass 3, it is scratch resistant. It has a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (1.5GHz) processor at its core and has 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage in addition to the 32GB of non-expandable internal storage built in. Visit Nokia's dedicated webpage to see the Lumia 1020's detailed technical specifications.
The phone will be available exclusively through AT&T in the United States and preorders will begin as soon as July 16. At launch (just ten days later) on July 26, the Lumia 1020 will cost $300, which doesn't seem so bad compared to high end Android OS devices.
