As reported by the Reuters on July 7, 2013, the South Korean plane, flight 214, of Asiana Airlines that was carrying 307 passengers and an infant, crashed on the runway while landing on the San Francisco International Airport.
The Boeing 777 was heading from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco. The Boeing 777 crash resulted into an injury of more than 180 passengers and two have been declared as dead.
As stated by the witnesses of the accident, the crash took place due to the tail of the plane hitting the ground.
This made the aircraft face a violent bounce resulting in charring of the roof of the flight, and breaking off the wings. The flight immediately caught fire, and black smokes surrounded the whole flight.
Most of the passengers of the aircraft were Chinese, Korean and U.S. nationals. Out of the injured people, five are in critical condition and are admitted at the San Francisco General Hospital.
Benjamin Levy, a survivor of the accident stated, “I know the airport pretty well, so I realized the guy was a bit too low, too fast, and somehow he was not going to hit the runway on time, so he was too low ... he put some gas and tried to go up again.
"But it was too late, so we hit the runway pretty bad, and then we started going up in the air again, and then landed again, pretty hard…"
