After trying to hide his whereabouts from his bosses tracking system, an engineer from New Jersey was fined $32,00 for inadvertently interfering with plane signals.

All Gary Bojczak wanted was to hide his truck's routes from his employer who outfitted the vehicle with a GPS monitoring device. To beat the GPS, Bojczak brought a GPS jammer, which is illegal in the U.S., to block the signals coming from his work truck.

Bojczak fired up the jammer and for a time it worked, but unbeknownst to him, he was also jamming the GPS signals used to test plane routes at Newark Liberty International Airport. After tracing the signal to Bojczak's truck, which was parked right next to the airport, a federal agent from the FCC and airport security confronted Bojczak who quickly confessed.

According to the FCC, the New Jersey resident was charged with interfering with authorized communications.
