Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has guided her new new employer to the top spot in internet traffic. Some would call the recent turn of events sweet revenge for Mayer who left Google to run Yahoo just a little more than a year ago.

Mayer is making news in many ways in recent days. On Saturday, Business Insider's Nicholas Carlson released the "unauthorized biography" of the 38-year-old Yahoo executive and the internet is buzzing about it.

Looking more like a rock star that a corporate executive in the recent issue of Vogue , Mayer fuels a lot of debate on her office life, mixed with motherhood.

The unauthorized biography starts talking about Meyer's career at Google, then drifts back to her days growing up in Wausau, Wisconsin. The biography tells the story of how the painfully shy teenage from small town Wisconsin went on to be the successful geeky girl at Google.

Marissa Mayer worked at Google for 13 years, starting as a programmer and rising to the role of senior vice president.

Now as CEO of Yahoo, Mayer can smile a bit and take satisfaction as the CEO at the helm when Yahoo would make news bumping Google out of the top spot in internet traffic.

Is Marissa Mayer technology's new rock star?

Marissa Mayer is rising in the ranks, much like the company she runs, to the top of the charts of technology executives.

With the passing of Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs in 2011, the world of technology has not had the rock star image at the helm of any major corporation. Her name and face are not yet as well known as Steve Jobs, but Marissa Mayer is definitely making news.

The attached video describes Yahoo's current success having finished in first place as most visited U.S. website.
