According to recent rumors, which are basically treated as fact in this digital age, Amazon is set to enter the smartphone market. This follows on the heels of Amazon reportedly developing a 3D-enabled smartphone that has eye-tracking tech similar to Samsung's Galaxy S4. While opinions are still mixed on Google entering the smart phone market by purchasing Motorola, it doesn't appear that Amazon will be purchasing a hardware manufacturer.

The good news for HTC in all this is that this partnership might have the potential to drag them out of a serious slump. The delay of the HTC One proved to be a very detrimental event for the company, who also makes Windows phones. So that would be an interesting development if this project was to go forward. Would Amazon be sticking with an Android operating system as they've used for their Kindle devices, or would they go with Windows?

Of course, par for any rumor is to refute it, as Amazon has done. Though they have left the door open, claiming that they won't be releasing a phone this year. Of course, that rumor also had the phone as being free to consumers, most likely tied to the Amazon Prime system. These rumors are nothing new, but seem to be solidifying as time goes on.

What do you think? Would you buy an Amazon phone running Windows?
