Believe it or not, some online techies are predicting that the smartphone will soon make the laptop computer obsolete for the average personal web surfer. The addictive nature of both social media and mobile apps is leading many people to head for their iPhones first thing in the morning, even before getting their first up of coffee or getting ready for work. Just this morning, an article by USA Today is asking the question:

Meanwhile, the Huffington Post is also running a similar story, listing 6 specific apps that will help its users to destress and re-energize. And Parade is listing the top 4 free apps that every mother should have at their fingertips, including the “Sit or Squat” App that helps moms find the nearest clean restroom while traveling with small children. All the user has to do is plug in a location. If the restroom is considered clean, it rates a “sit” rating. If not, it warrants a “squat”.
So how are all of these free apps becoming so readily available, seemingly overnight? The Economic Times is saying that Freelance app designers are simply doing what they like to do best: be creative. Money is not always the motivating factor.
“Making an app does not necessarily require formal training but knowledge of software programming languages are a definite plus” reports Visy Valsan.
As the use of apps becomes increasingly popular, more and more average consumers are beginning to have some ingenious ideas themselves for possible new apps that might be useful and entertaining to the public-at-large. These entrepreneurs may want to “strike while the iron is hot” and have someone else create the app for them.
