Amazon is amazing. Not only do they have a “ One-Day Kindle Deals: 20% off Kindle tablets” page, announced today, Monday, December 9, 2013 , but they’ve also announced a new “Kindle Free Time” on Kindle Fire tables that helps kids learn during their screen time.
“Free Time” is free, exclusively from Amazon, that will show up on any Kindle table with the Free Time app that Amazon’s new press release says is coming in weeks – no doubt just in time for Christmas Day present opening, like for parents who’ve spent $139 on a Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HDX 7" and Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" at Amazon.
Features like ‘Learn First” help make sure the kiddies study before playing too many games without enough educational value. Parents can set goals for their kids regarding reading and learning. Subscriptions to “Free Time Unlimited,” will bring plenty of new books, apps, videos and games for children.
So with the new educational goals, parents can set goals like to have their kids read for 30 minutes prior to playing a bunch of games or watching cartoons. Also, the bedtime feature lets you choose a set time where kids can use their Kindle tables, like from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or whatever your limits involve.
Parents can even borrow a Kindle book from participating public libraries, put it on the Free Time app, or those of us who borrow books each month as part of the Amazon Prime Kindle Owners’ Lending Library feature will find we can add that to Free Time for our kids as well.
