Despite the relentless snow in some parts of the United States, spring is actually here and it's time to start thinking about picking up a new vacuum for that thorough spring cleaning you're about to do.
We know it can be a challenge to find the right tools to help you get your spring cleaning done quickly and efficiently, which is why we decided to put the Kenmore Bagless Canister Vacuum to the spring cleaning test.
One of the first things you'll notice about the vacuum is that it comes with a hefty price tag of $249.99. While that is quite a steep price, it is justified with the deep cleaning and thorough results you will get.
I bought a cheaper vacuum last year and it only last for about four months before it clogged up and quit working. Even though a price like this is tough to justify, there is something to be said for investing in quality. Besides, waiting for a sale on this vacuum isn't a bad idea since that probably happens quite often.
There was some assembly required when first taking out all of the parts of the vacuum. The setup is easy enough to figure out and I didn't find much trouble when assembling it. If you really struggle with the parts though, there is a very helpful guide to walk you through its setup.
From a useability standpoint, the Kenmore Bagless Canister Vacuum is outstanding with its ease of use and effectiveness. Its multi-purpose function made vacuuming hardwood floors and carpet very easy. I found it did a better job with carpeted surfaces versus hard, but the former did provide a more stable foundation to vacuum on.
In some parts of vacuuming the hardwood floors, you'll need to go a bit slower and not just rush the suction hose over the debris. The same thing can be said for picking up large items on a carpeted surface. Overall, the suction was great and it made cleaning very easy.
There is a retractable cord that makes unraveling the power cord simple. No longer will your cord get stuck on items like previous vacuums did. A simple pull on the cord provides more slack and a press of the gray button on the vacuum quickly and easily ravels the power cord back into the vacuum. Even though that's a smaller feature, it's one many people are going to appreciate.
The device was light and easy to move around my house. It's quite an added luxury to not have to use bags with the vacuum and is a money saving feature many people are going to be thrilled with. Removing the canister is very easy to do and makes emptying the compartment very, very easy to do.
As someone who is 6'2'' one of my biggest concerns about the vacuum was the length of the hose and it ended up being too short for me. Having to bend over to vacuum my whole house wasn't pleasant, so if you are someone who is as tall or taller than me, then you might want to consider other options.
Overall though, the Kenmore Bagless Canister Vacuum does an exceptional job of cleaning both hard surfaces as well as carpeted areas. I'd recommend this to anyone so long as they are willing to spend the extra cash for it, and aren't much taller than I am.
